Aquael Pearlmax Bio is an innovative, multi-layered filter medium made from sintered glass, designed to support optimal water conditions in the aquarium. Its special structure provides active adsorption capacity and effectively supports the breakdown of pollutants such as ammonium (NH4) and nitrite (NO2). At the same time, it helps create a stable and healthy environment for fish and plants.

Sintered glass is a glass material that is not formed from a fully molten glass mass, but from fine glass granulate or glass powder. This is compacted under heat to such an extent that the particles “bake” together without completely melting. The result is a porous yet solid material. Inside the filter medium are numerous cavities that create differences in concentration and bind pollutants specifically to the surface. Pearlmax Bio also contains valuable trace elements, which are gradually released into the water and help support the metabolism of aquarium inhabitants. The filter medium therefore not only has a purifying effect, but also promotes the growth and vitality of plants and animals.

Thanks to its neutral properties, Pearlmax Bio does not affect the pH value, carbonate hardness (KH) or general hardness (GH) of the water. It is versatile and suitable for a wide range of filters and filtration systems. Its high durability makes it particularly long-lasting, and it can be cleaned simply by rinsing it in aquarium water.
